In week 44, Thursday 2 November at 17:00, Prios Kompetanse starts a course in the field of Health worker subject.
The course will prepare and qualify you theoretically to complete the theoretical exam in the healthcare profession.
The teaching is conducted by skilled teachers who are used to working with adults and adapt the content of the
teaching in relation to this. We add up to the exam questions to complete along the way with individual guidance.
Examination is conducted as a private exam in June 2018. All registration for the exam must be done via the
internet: www.privatistweb.no between 15 January and 1 February 2018.
Some county municipalities offer to cover all or part of the course fee if you are 25 years of age or older and
have not completed 3 years of high school or have passed a certificate. Contact your county municipality for an
overview of your rights.
If you are a member of a trade union you will in many cases be able to apply for a scholarship for education. Some
unions provide scholarships through the LO Educational Fund. You can also apply for a daily federation or trade and
office. We are happy to assist you with the application.

There is a great need for more health professionals in the coming years, it is estimated at 4000 per year.
The health professional performs practical care, care and environmental work for patients and users of health and social
services.The health worker works in the specialist service, in mental health care at all levels and in institutions and varied
care and treatment services in the municipal and private sectors.
The core tasks of a healthcare practitioner are:
- Exercise of professional and caring health care, with the user in the center
- Work on health promoting, preventive and rehabilitative care and care measures
- Scheduling, execution and participation in the overall treatment plan for the patient / user
- To work for current hygienic, nutritional and ergonomic principles
- To handle medicines according to current legislation
- Journaling, documentation and reporting
